I went to have another pass at the Stories list in order to update the Wiki, and... ran into an odd problem:
If I attempt to change the list view to "All" stories, I get a blank page. This happens in both Firefox and Chrome. Chrome actually reports it as a "server error."
It may just be that the stories list got too long and the server is having problems rendering it all.
To make it worse, I then couldn't get back to the smaller list: the server remembers your "preferred" setting and defaults to it.
Fortunately, I found an workaround:
1. Open _any other page_ of the site;
2. Log off from your account.
3. Navigate to the First Generation stories list. Since you aren't logged in, it will default to 30 stories per page and load correctly.
4. FROM THE STORIES LIST PAGE, log in: the server will keep to the 30-stories-per-page rendering and allow you to see that page, and "reset" your preferred rendering to 30.

Hmm, when you set to all stories the site is returning a completed blank page, nothing in the "body" of the html.
We were starting to get some SQL errors as we were adding the stories, Kristin will need to look into it once she finishes her night off.
As a better work around, use the "back" button to go back to the page before you made the selection, and then select another number for the stories per page.

I tried, it didn't work for me for some reason... but the other workaround did.

I'm much to curious for my own good sometimes... as I read your initial post I wondered about it and tried it as I went and got a Server Error page when I tried the All amount (I'm in chrome).
So glad you figured out the fix to it before I did that because otherwise I'd have freaked-out a bit more, than I did, when I realized I couldn't get it back to the normal list amount.

Ya, I've been a little worried about the category list length. It's working for me, atm. That doesn't mean that it won't error out if multiple people are making server calls at the same time though.
Clearing local cache should always clear that setting for you, btw. As should just relogging. I think.
More than likely, this means I'll have to 'cap' this category list as WU Year 1 - 2006-2007 or something, and start a new list for the new school year.

Just remove the "all" button from the category?
…or replace it with "300"
…or replace it with "300"

I hit the same problem, thanks for the idea about logging out, I'll try that. The back arrow and clearing the cache didn't work for me.

It's a lot of information to pile in one table. I'm not surprised it overloads some browsers... I'm more concerned/confused by the fact that when it fails, you get a server error.

That poses a few interesting questions... such as where stories like "Razzle Dazzle", "Forging Anew", E.E.'s Paradise Island tales and your own "Baker's Dozen" fit on that. Maybe it would be a good excuse to create a "Gen0" page with stories that don't fit the standard timelines for either Gen1 or Gen2.
