  • And if so, is he one of those Goodkind's?

  • Possible answers: No he does not exist. All other questions moot
Yes he does exist, he isn't one of those Goodkinds.
Yes he does exist, yes he is one of those Goodkinds
Yes he does exist, he is the black sheep of one of the families, sort of like Heather...
I think that covers the possibilities. But we haven't seen anyone include his writing even as tangentially as we've seen the Twilight books included. Which seems odd, in a way, as popular as I expect Goodkind is among certain sectors of the youth populace.

“Ok, I’m confused,” announced Murphy as the girls filed into their club house. “Was that Mrs. Carson thanking us, or chewing us out?”

“A little of both, I think,” Maggie said with a sigh as she settled into her favorite chair and reached for her copy of Terry Goodkind’s Phantom from the table beside it. “And with good reason when you stop and think about it,” she added. “I mean, none of us really knew what we were getting into in all this.”

    No Relation.

  • Related somewhat seeing as they have PayPal and Syndicate backed spin offs, i assume Whateley Universe has its version of Elon Musk, does it also have Tesla and SpaceX? I can see WU's Musk as a gadgeteer/ exemplar....

Any Bad Ideas I have and microscene OC character stories are freely adoptable.

Heather's car was a Tesla Islander, a lightweight electric car that was popular for use through out the Caribbean at both upscale resorts for its zero emissions and in less developed inner hinterlands for it's rugged, go anywhere chassis and gadgeteer improved batteries. There was also an optional package that made the little car amphibious.

What. Tesla is founded, like... > 3 years ahead of IRL? ... Wow. This makes me soo hungry for more business-world world building. And it seems like the WU is doing way better on the global warming front than IRL?

And no one noticed this until now... Unless Forum Search doesn't search inside Spoiler Boxes...

  • Not the only case. Although iPhones only appeared in 2007 as in our world, smartphones as a class became popular in the WU several years before. Possibly looking more like a Blackberry or a Palm Treo than what we are used to seeing today, but you can notice the ubiquitousness of smartphones in Gen1, while in our world Nokias and the Motorola Razr were the best-sellers back then. Curiously, custom phones seem to be a thing; perhaps one of the open mobile platforms such as MeeGo really took off in the WU.

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.
