  • The commander precons are normally pretty decent. And at a decent price. I'm excited about the U/R deck this year. Gonna try and grab them all though and rip them apart execpt for the enchantment one for parts. That and normally they spike in price pretty well.

  • I used to play a long time ago, got out, then back in. Recently started back in Dominaria, and got a few decks build, and an old one I used to have. Two standard decks, and two experimental Brawler decks.

  • Brawl is pretty much 60 card rotating edh. The last part being my problem with it. If you get out for awhile your brawl deck is no good. Edh is nice as its an eternal format.

But for Brawl slimefoot is pretty boss. As is Bolas.

I currently don't have anything other than my 5 or 6 edh deck. Hmm let's see here. Atraxa (random stuff in there you never know what way she is coming after you til you see what I start to play.) Mareth( who is counter/token based.), Freylise (elves everywhere yay monogreen), Edgar Markov (vampire beatdown), UrDragon (nuff said). Had 9 more but I took them apart in anticipation of kit bashing this year's stuff. Will likely overhaul the R/U or make it into RUBW with breya as the commander, the enchantment deck will just be modified. The disgrace deck has a bunch if stuff in it I want for other decks and esper deck is also for parts. And I get them tomorrow yay.

You mean Magic The Gathering??? I used to play a mean undead deck. Unfortunately...it was a casualty of my apartment fire. Plus three or four other decks. Alongside more than $300 worth of RPG rulebooks.

Thankfully, I've gotten back most of the money for the stuff I had insured, and the apartment is still looking like it'll be back in a liveable condition in 5-6 months. I'll be able to get out of my parent's house (again) and get back to living without the constant 'have you done x' questions I've grown to loath (again)

  • One of my best friends plays Slivers for edh. I pretty much have two options with my two main decks either merciless eviction in Atraxa or in Edgar settle the wreckage. If I'm playing vampires I keep the mana for settle open even if I don't have it in the hopes of keeping him from attacking before I'm ready. And I get him with it often enough for him to stay wary lol.

  • Shadow was fun I slipped a few shadow creature in my edh deck before our last game day at the lgs freaked people out cause inept putting them back on the field after board wipes due to reabimator spells in my deck. And I had ways of making them huge. I have never seen so much hate thrown at one or two creatures before worked great. I knocked out one guy out of group of 5 with one and everyone else spent the rest of the game so focused on keeping them off the board that I was able to get my actual win con up and running before they realized what was going on. Darksteel reactor ftw. Got it out and up to twenty counters the turn I played it and everyone else was out of counters and instant speed removal cause of the shadow creatures ahahahahaha

  • Here's a scary thought. A bunch of us in Reactor Dept on the Nimitz played MTG. And like games of spades, hearts, cribbage, and so on... it wasn't unusual for said games to run for days as a time. Someone would get up to go on watch and someone else would slip into that seat... the game as a whole would continue... unending, basically... until either drills or a training event of some sort would send everyone to stations at the same time.

But... and this is the 'scary' part... I got out of the Navy in '94. That's 24 years ago. So its seriously disorienting to hear you talking about MTG as a viable, actively played game in the 'now'. I mean, I had a pretty good sized collection.. but... "The Dark" was the last expansion I bought seriously... Fallen Empires came out shortly after I separated and I bought a few packs, but was aware that I no longer had a regular income burn on comics and games for a while. There have been more revisions to the CORE deck since then than there were core and expansion decks combined at the point I quit. And expansions? Ya... there's a lot of them I don't know about. :)

  • How about this a pack of dark unopened goes for like 1k now. Don't you wish you had a booster box sitting around somewhere ;p

And yep this year was 25th anniversary I started playing the year it came out lol. I had my collection throughout away by a grandparent who thought she was getting rid of the evil sin...... So yeah that'd like 200k worth of cards now. I could have put myself though college by the time I got to that age just off the value of my first deck not including all my other cards >.<

And Kristen you could likely retire.
